ReplyDeleteHey Kyle here and i say pluto was very sneeky. He showed this in the way he got Proserpina to eat the pomegranate seed. Which meant that Prosenpina could only vist her mother Ceres half a year.The other half of the year she was the Queen of the Underworld.
ReplyDeleteProserpina is my favorite because she always tried to do whats best and help other people.Like when she tried to get flowers she went for the best ones but sadly she did not do what her mother said "don't go off to far."Also at the end she tried to get out of Pluto as fast as she could, Pluto said "eat this seed and it will bring you good luck" and she was tricked.(Cody L.)

My favorite charather is jupiter because he's in charge of the gods,and he tells pluto to give prserpina back to ceres[her mom]. So that she will be happy and she will tell the qeen how to grow food. Also i like how he try to tell ceres that her daughter was captured by pluto.He also try to tell pluto to take her back, but he did not listen.

In the story Helious tells Creres and Hacate that Pluto took Proserpina away.Helious also told them that Jupiter gave Pluto permision to do so. That is my favorite character.(Dominique H. You can tell ceres loves her daughter because it says in the book "I never will, not unless my daughter is returned safely to me". When she was sad the seasons, fall and winter came when, she was happy spring and summer came because she was with her daughter.

ReplyDeleteI really liked Ceres,because she loved her daughter so much that she wouldn't rest. She searched and searched. She never gave up hope her daughter might return. For example when she stopped harvest from growing because she missed her daughter so much! I liked the part when they both saw each other again.

Ceres tryed to make the baby prince a god so he will live forever ceres does that because she has a strong bond with him. Every time Proerpina came home it was Spring and Summer. My favorite character/god is Ceres cause she searched all over the land for Proserpina.She almost(that or she did)made the boy a god,which I kind of thought was cool.Ceres also looked up to the other gods/goddess for help in looking for her daughter. She made spring and summer happen whenever Proserpina returns.She may have damaged buildings and such,but she still is kind of cool :)

So Ceres searched and searched and when she couldn't find her daughter she went to see Jupiter the sun god. then Jupiter told Ceres how he gave Pluto permission to take Proserpina and Ceres got more upset, and made Jupiter send Mercury the messenger god to tell Pluto that he is not allowed to keep Proserpina. Before Proserpina left the underworld Pluto tricked her into eating a pomegranite seed by telling her it will give her good luck. But it really meant that she would have to be the queen of the underworld for half a year every year. That is how our seasons work. Fall and winter equals Proserpina in the underworld and Ceres is sad. Spring and summer equal Proserpina with her mother and Ceres is happy and makes all the plants grow. ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is Ceres because when Proserpina (her daughter) is kidnapped away from her by Pluto, Ceres never gave up on looking for her and seeking help. That is why our seasons change the way they do. In the fall and the winter, Ceres mourns for Proserpina, which is with Pluto. And in the spring in the summer, Proserpina is once again with her mother and both are happy. (Pam V. - Pavelka HMRM)

My favorite character was Mercury because he had to be brave enough to go down into the underworld to get Proserpina on page 687. He went with out hesitation, or questioning.
